Will Dark Spot Treatment patches cause peeling or irritation?

Updated 1. January 2024

Immediate Answer: The formula is designed to be gentle, so peeling and irritation are rare. If you do experience a reaction, stop use and give your skin time to recover.

The Science: Irritation can occur if:

  • Active ingredients are too strong for your skin
  • Frequency is too high
  • Your barrier is already compromised

Nordic Formula's formula balances efficacy with gentleness—you should not experience strong irritation. If your skin reacts, it's a signal to slow down.

What to do if you experience irritation:

Brief redness right after removal (normal):

  • Short-lived flushing after patch removal is normal—it's a sign the active ingredients have been working
  • Continue use as planned
  • Ensure moisturiser is applied after removal

Persistent irritation:

  • Stop use and give your skin 5-7 days to recover
  • Restart at 1x per week and gradually increase
  • If irritation continues, consult a dermatologist

Pro Tip: Brief redness right after patch removal is a common sign that ingredients have penetrated the skin. True irritation persists hours afterward or the next day. Know the difference before adjusting your routine.
