What is the best time of year to start a skincare programme?

Updated 1. January 2024

Immediate Answer: Any time is good, but autumn/winter is ideal—lower sun intensity means fewer new UV concerns while you're reversing existing damage. Starting in spring/summer requires strict SPF adherence (you're treating existing damage while fighting new damage simultaneously).

The Science: Sun intensity varies seasonally:

  • Spring/Summer: High UV, more sun spots form while you're treating them (uphill battle)
  • Autumn/Winter: Low UV, easier to see treatment results without new damage forming

However: Don't delay treatment waiting for "perfect" season. Starting now is better than waiting 6 months.

How Nordic Formula Helps: Autumn/Winter start:

  • Easier to see results (lower concurrent sun damage)
  • Reduced SPF reapplication requirements (less intense sun)
  • Faster visible progress (encouraging consistency)

Spring/Summer start:

  • Absolutely possible, but requires:

- Strict daily Daycream Defence Repair SPF 50 - SPF reapplication every 2 hours if in sun - Realistic expectations (progress slower due to new damage forming)

Pro Tip: The best time to start is when you commit to consistency, not when the calendar is "right." If you're ready now, start now. Consistency beats optimal timing.
